| | The fireflies finally came out a week or two ago and I rushed out one night to a place called Frohring Meadows, about one mile from where I live, to see if I could get them with the camera. I tried using the "movie" function on my camera, but even after the fix (they have very limited options for editing on the "movie" function), it was still pitch black. But I got some interesting pictures anyway - I think only two where a firefly or two showed up, even though this field was covered with thousands of them! You can see maybe one or two in this first picture and one or two in the last picture and that's about it. However, some of these shots really came out well for the dim light.

I had my camera on night scene. Have to hold it as still as possible since the shutter stays open longer. Those lights are a house in the distance.

The same house with what remained of the sunset sky.

I loved this next shot of the moon so much that I edited the photo in different ways three more times afterward so the next four pictures all are from the same shot.

Thunderheads in the distance. Tried to get a shot of a lightning bolt, but was never able to time it right!

You can barely see two fireflies at the bottom right of this picture.
